Alaska Airlines is one of the major carriers of the US and has its base in Seattle in Washington. It was established in the form of McGee Airlines in 1932 while running flights from Anchorage in Alaska. It functions its biggest hub at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport but a large portion of the traffic and revenue come from various locations away from Alaska.
It runs a large number of flights for connecting small towns to various transportation hubs. It also holds the credit for carrying the largest number of passengers between Alaska and the US. It is one of the few premier airlines of the world which doesn’t have membership under the three major global airline alliances.
However, it does have code-share with some airlines of the OneWorld group including LAN Airlines, British Airways and American Airlines. It also has partnerships with various members of SkyTeam such as Delta Airlines, Korean Air and Air France. The headquarters of the airlines are located at Ted Stevens International Airport.
